Teucrium polium is a wild-growing flowering herb, abundantly found in various regions such as Europe, North Africa and South-Western Asia. T. polium has been used for different diseases such as diabetes, rheumatologic diseases, inflammation, gastrointestinal disorders. [1]

Recent studies have shown the antioxidant property of T. polium. It was supposed that the presence of an ortho-dihydroxy substitution in the flavone B-ring is responsible for the antioxidant activity of this herb. [2]

Teucrium polium extract has shown to improve the wound healing process too. [3]

The cumulative data presented in the literaturecategorize the traditional use of T. polium extracts mainlyfor several disorders such as abdominal pain, indigestion common cold and urogenital infections. [4]
