Satureja montana has been used in traditional medicine to treat various ailments and their symptoms. It has been used to relieve muscle pain, stomach and intestinal disorders such as nausea, indigestion, and diarrhea, and infectious diseases.

Recently, many studies have been proving the properties of Satureja montana, including antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-diabetic, anti-hyperlipidemic, antispasmodic, anti-nociceptive, anti-inflammatory, antiproliferative, sedative, reproduction stimulatory, vasodilatory activities. [1,2]

These data suggest that Satureja montana could be considered as a natural remedy for the treatment of premature ejaculation delaying ejaculation latency without exerting any negative effect on the other parameters of sexual behavior and without exerting a sedative effect.[3]

The  positive  effects  of  savory  on  human  health  as  well  as  its  antibacterial activity  are  attributed  to  its  active  constituents  such  as  EO,  triterpenes,  flavonoids  and rosmarinic acid. [4]
