Flowers of false acacia rich in proteins and microelements which could be used for additives in foods. They contain volatile compounds, flavonoids, proteins, robinin, polysaccharide and some microelements. [1]

Robinia pseudoacacia flowers are edible, with high nutrient and functional values. They are used in traditional medicine as diuretic, spasmolytic, sedative and cholagogic agents. Its flowers relieve inflammation of the kidneys and biliary ducts agent.

They are used also for soothing the feelings of heartburn and to reduce gastric hyperacidity. [2]

The results of a study showed that R. pseudoacacia’s extracts exhibited a selective antimicrobial effect directed against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis) and Gram-negative (Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli) bacterial strains. The combination of extract/antibiotic had a synergistic effect. [3]
